The 2020 Individual Grant was used to renovate a one-room teacher’s apartment owned by the Bethlen Gábor Foundation in Aiud. The property is owned by the Bethlen Gábor Foundation. The block of flats was built in 1978 and has a floor area of 34 m2.
The apartment was in dire need of modernisation because the electricity, heating, water and sewerage systems were outdated. It was also necessary to replace the windows and doors because they were also in an unrepairable state and the thermal insulation of the apartment was not solved. The refurbished and modernised apartment is much needed, as the Bethlen Gábor College employs several teachers who are not from Aiud and we would like to provide them with a service apartment to help them start their careers. If we cannot do this, we would have to employ unqualified substitute teachers for the teaching posts, which would mean a deterioration in the quality of education.
We would also like to thank you for your support, which has contributed greatly to the Bethlen Gábor Foundation’s ability to provide safe, hygienic and modern accommodation for a young teacher-colleague who will continue his/her teaching career at Bethlen Gábor College, thus contributing greatly to the further support and development of quality education.
