We have been awarded a grant of 10,000 RON for the 2023/24 academic year from the Communitas Foundation. We are using this amount to reduce the maintenance costs of the Bethlen Gábor Foundation.
As a residential college background institution, our activities have diversified over the years. From supporting our students financially and substantively, maintaining the quality of mother tongue education, organizing cultural programs, and maintaining relationships with supporters – we encompass everything. Additionally, the beautification and modernization of the building have become a priority for us, which is why we have established a separate office for the foundation’s operations.
Maintaining the foundation’s headquarters and the costs of the teacher apartments we own impose a significant burden on us. These expenses include telephone and internet costs, essential for administration, as well as home insurance, taxes, and office supplies. Utility costs, especially in winter, are a constant expense, and the foundation covers the heating costs of the office and the practical kitchen. The practical kitchen is mainly used by students studying to be waiters and chefs, so we must provide heating for them, which represents a significant cost burden for us.
We have used the grant to alleviate these burdens. This allows us to support participation in events and competitions held in the dormitory and to redirect the saved amounts to benefit the students.
We express our gratitude to the Communitas Foundation for the support, which helps our foundation stabilize and reduce significant financial burdens.
