Project Report – National Restart 2021

On behalf of the State Secretariat for National Policy of the Prime Minister’s Office, the Bethlen Gábor Foundation of Aiud also received a grant in the “National Restart Programme I” application announced by the BGA Zrt.

Under the programme, we applied for support for our educational activities, including the possibility to support the running costs of our organisation and the purchase of equipment in view of the epidemic situation.

The grant awarded by the Foundation was used in accordance with these conditions. Consequently, part of the grant was used to cover the operating costs of the Bethlen Gábor College’s back office, specifically the gross salary of the office manager, thus reducing the Foundation’s expenditure burden, which is of great importance for sustainability.

The other part of the grant was used for the purchase of equipment, as the development and modernisation process, which has been ongoing for several years, is still ongoing. We are constantly working to provide a new environment for students and teachers, not only externally but also internally.  This time, the focus of the development has been on the new kindergarten built by the Transylvanian Reformed Church District. In the school year 2021-2022, the youngest children in our community will be able to play and learn in a modern, attractive and child-friendly environment.

The amount intended for the purchase of equipment was used to pay for part of the kitchen furniture for the nursery, as the full payment for the kitchen furniture was made from two different sources.

In summary, in order for the Bethlen Gábor Foundation to play a major role in the financial support of the school’s renovation and maintenance work and to carry out its other support activities effectively, it is essential that the Foundation, as a self-sustaining back-up institution, has a stable foundation, which is why it was important to use part of the grant to pay salaries. In this way, we have achieved a double objective, as both the new kindergarten and our Foundation have developed as an organisation.

We would also like to take this opportunity to thank the State Secretariat for National Policy of the Prime Minister’s Office for its continued support for our prosperity in our homeland, as the cultivation and development of multifaceted relations contributes to strengthening our sense of Hungarian identity.
