Project Report
Introduction:
The goal of the Bethlen Gábor College Youth Orchestra Project is to stimulate the youth life of the college and support the intellectual and cultural development of the students. The institution has been running talent workshops for many years, and the Youth Orchestra was active from the beginning. However, after a few years of hiatus, it was successfully reactivated thanks to financial support from a project. The orchestra has been functioning for nearly two years and primarily deals with arrangements of youth and religious light music. The team consists of approximately 20 members, 10 of whom are singers, while the others are learning to play various musical instruments.
Use of the Granted Support:
The mentioned financial support was used to develop the musical skills of the youth and support their community-building activities. Part of the requested funding was allocated for teacher fees, while the other part was used to organize a youth camp. In the autumn, a three-day camp was organized during a long weekend, featuring intensive instrumental education and song rehearsals. These activities proved successful, as a new repertoire was formed for the upcoming performances. Thanks to the granted support, the teachers’ fees for the three days were covered, and the camp was held at Bethlen Gábor College, where 20 students benefited from accommodation and meals.
Expected Outcomes:
By implementing this project, we aim to have a positive impact on the students of the college. The joint music activities and other events are essential for the students’ personal development and for building the community. The Bethlen Gábor Foundation is committed to supporting the students and aims to further the continuous development of the talent workshops. With the help of this support, we intend to continue and strengthen the work of the orchestra and its community-building activities.

Summary:
The completed project has significantly contributed to the cultural and personal development of the students at the college. The results of the project had a direct impact on the team members, as the camp was organized for them, and they benefited from music education. At the same time, the orchestra also had an impact on the entire student community of the college, as several times there were joint singing sessions during school services, and students participated in the activities of the Youth Orchestra both as spectators and active participants. The orchestra supports the spiritual development of all these students, and as a result, the target group of this project was approximately 500 students. The orchestra’s activities and the planned youth camp offer participants community experiences and new skills, thus supporting the development of young talents and stimulating the youth life of the institution.
