Support That Shapes Futures
The Godparent Program of the Bethlen Gábor Foundation has been working for years to ensure that hardworking, talented students from modest financial backgrounds have access to learning and development opportunities. One of the program’s most beautiful outcomes is when support practically eases the lives of young people and provides them with a real vision for the future.
I. In the spirit of growth and collaboration – with the support of “Budapest Főváros IV. kerület Újpest Önkormányzata”
For over a decade, Újpest Municipality has been a stable and dedicated partner in this mission, whose support has become a true success story for our community.
Thanks to the support of Újpest Municipality, several of our students have benefited from residential support, which provided accommodation and meals for the entire school year.
This aid is incredibly significant: it relieves families of a substantial financial burden, allowing students to focus on their studies in a safe and secure environment. In this way, the support is not just financial—it is opportunity-creating, shaping the long-term trajectory of young people’s lives.
Over the past four years, two students from the pedagogy-focused classes, Máté Zselyke and Rostás Angéla, have received this support. Both have demonstrated diligence, perseverance, and excellent results, proving that the aid reached the right hands. This year, as graduating students, we are proud and delighted for them, knowing that their knowledge and dedication will allow them to shape not only their own futures but also positively impact the lives of others.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Újpest Municipality for supporting our foundation over the years, helping not only the studies of our students but also their futures. Such collaborations truly show the power of community responsibility. Behind each support lies real human stories, struggles, dreams, and successes.
Since the most important message can always be shared by those who have personally experienced the power of support, below you can read Zselyke’s and Angéla’s accounts of what this support meant to them, how it helped them in everyday life, and how it contributed to achieving their goals:
Rostás Angéla
“ It was worth spending my free time over the past few years on activities where I was surrounded by people, because that way I always had a small group I could belong to. Besides these, I learned many things that may not be tangible, but I feel they have become part of my personality.
Throughout the past years, I always had a sponsor through the Godparent Program. I was able to receive the Újpest scholarship, and I still receive it, since I am being supported this year as well. I am very, very grateful for this, and with this report I would like to thank them for supporting me financially throughout all these years. This year, a major event for me was the Bethlen Ball, the ribbon ceremony, and the freshman ball, which we organized together with the graduating classes, along with several other different events.
Once again, I would like to thank the Újpest Municipality and the Bethlen Gábor College for the opportunities of the past few years.”
Máté Zselyke
This school year has been very diverse so far. Just like in previous years, I have tried to take part in as many programs as possible.
As a twelfth-grade student, studying has become my main priority this year, but I also participated in the Mikes Kelemen Hungarian Language and Literature Competition and fortunately advanced to the national round. I hope I will be able to achieve the best possible result there!
Looking back on this school year and the years I have spent here so far, I am very grateful to all the kind people who supported me. I have gained countless experiences, and I feel that I have been able to develop a lot. Their help has greatly eased my parents’ burden and made it possible for me to continue my studies without any difficulties.
