Project Report of the Bethlen Gábor Foundation

Introduction

The Bethlen Gábor Foundation has been supporting the educational activities of the college for over two decades. The foundation’s current project aims to support the operation of the college and the development of its facilities. A small portion of the planned costs will be allocated for the foundation’s operation, while a larger share will be dedicated to the development of the college.

Activities and acquisitions carried out within the project:

Equipping the SMARTLAB classroom:

Four new cabinets were purchased to safely and properly store the equipment used in the robotics club.

Expansion of the dining hall of the teaching kitchen:

By purchasing 42 new chairs, it became possible to comfortably hold community events, activities, and meals with a larger number of participants.

Equipment necessary for maintaining the green area:
One manual lawn mower, one leaf blower, and one brush cutter — these contribute to maintaining the green area around the dormitory and the foundation’s courtyard in good condition, thereby enhancing the institution’s aesthetic and environmental value.

Office furniture and phone storage boxes:
Two desks, two cabinets, and 38 phone storage boxes were purchased to equip the classrooms and maintain order in the learning environment.

The new chairs, cabinets, office furniture, and equipment necessary for maintaining the green areas not only enhance the physical comfort and efficiency of the dormitory but also modernize the learning environment. These improvements are sustainable in the long term and contribute to increasing the dormitory’s competitiveness both locally and regionally.

Project operational costs and other supported areas:

Among the planned costs was the funding of the annual gross salary for the employed office manager, as well as payment for accounting services over a five-month period. These operational expenses ensure the uninterrupted execution of the foundation’s daily administrative tasks and indirectly contribute to the professional implementation of the project.

The project also covered utility bills, particularly for the gas needed to heat the dormitory, for which we contributed 2,000,000 HUF. This support allowed the dormitory to provide comfortable conditions for both students and staff even during the cold season.

Additionally, supported areas included maintenance costs to keep the modernized sports field in good condition. Continuous maintenance of the sports field ensures the long-term usability of the infrastructure.

Among the project’s objectives was also the support of travel and programs for the talent groups. These activities significantly contribute to the personal development of the students, the nurturing of their creativity, and the enrichment of their community experiences. The tours of the theater groups “Fordított Patkó” and “Kalamajka,” as well as the mixed choir “Cantus Princeps,” throughout Transylvania — including visits to Timișoara, Deva, Covasna, Sângeorgiu de Pădure, Bucerdea Grănoasă, and Luduș — were successfully carried out.

Conclusion

The Bethlen Gábor Foundation’s project has greatly contributed to improving the efficiency of the college and enhancing the living conditions of the students. The improvements made to the assets serve long-term goals, while the measures supporting the foundation’s operations will ensure its effective functioning in the future.
