CALL FOR PROPOSALS
The leadership of the Bethlen Gábor Foundation in Aiud and the Scholarship Committee of the Bethlen Gábor College announce a call for applications for the Dr. Hangody László Academic Scholarship.
The scholarship was offered by Dr. László Hangody in the amount of 1,000 euros, which was deposited into the account of the Bethlen Gábor Foundation.
Professor Dr. László Hangody is a university professor, Doctor of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, Head of the Department of Traumatology at Semmelweis University, Professional Director of the Péterfy Sándor Hospital Trauma Center, and Head Physician of the Orthopedic-Traumatology Department at Uzsoki Hospital.
The aim of the scholarship is to encourage students’ interest in the natural sciences. The scholarship is awarded once a year during the graduation ceremony.
The first scholarship—worth 250 euros—was awarded in 2016, followed by annual awards in 2017, 2018, and 2019.
The tradition continued in 2020, with additional scholarships awarded in 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024—one student each year receiving 200 euros during the graduation ceremony.
In 2025, the scholarship fund was increased by €1,000, so €200 scholarships will continue to be given each year at the graduation ceremony.
ELIGIBILE APPLICANTS: The prize is open to students in Year 12 from the Real Theory class.
CRITERIA FOR THE EVALUATION OF THE APPLICATION:
- The prize is awarded to the 12th-grade student who has achieved the highest grade point average over four years of secondary school in the following subjects: Hungarian Language and Literature, Mathematics, Biology, Physics and Chemistry. In the case of the same overall, the prize is shared.
APPLICATION DOCUMENTS TO BE SUBMITTED:
1. Application form (downloadable from the website)
2. Proof of academic achievement:
-Grade point averages in grades IX to XI academic averages – with a copy of the student check
-Grade point averages in grade XII – With a certificate from the teacher of the subject
PLACE AND METHOD OF SUBMISSION: On paper, at the office of the Bethlen Gábor Foundation.
SUBMISSION PERIOD: 20th of May 2025.
